Marcus J. Lock of Gunnison was among nine Colorado attorneys who were honored with the Special Recognition Award by the Colorado Lawyers Committee. They comprised the Jail Wait Litigation Team, which challenged the failure of the Colorado Mental Health Institute in Pueblo to provide timely evaluations and treatment for presumptively incompetent individuals being held in jail. The settlement with the State assures humane treatment in the future. The presentation took place at the organization’s 35th anniversary Awards Luncheon.
